The crypto community just experienced an emotional swing after Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, stated in his recent twitter post the word “Ethereum”.
Ethereum

In a matter of just 3 hours, the post gained more than 27K likes, most of it probably coming from the Ethereum community and its holders. The excitation didn’t last long as an hour later Elon Musk added:
jk
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 30, 2019
According to the urban dictionary, ‘jk’ simply means ‘just kidding‘. This twitter post escalated to ‘just’ 18k likes in 2 hours making the whole crypto community more than confused. It didn’t take long before important industry characters joined the conversation. Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum himself posted:
You should come to our Devcon in October 🙂
— Vitalik Non-giver of Ether (@VitalikButerin) April 30, 2019
Then, an unexpected answer from Elon Musk pops out in the thread:
Stop giving away free ETH! 🤣🤣
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) April 30, 2019
Elon Musk refers to the recent twitter scams that promised free ETH tokens after sending a smaller amount of ETH to the scammers first.
Also, TRON Founder, Justin Sun, added his few cents, yet it has been avoided by Elon Musk.

Regardless of the outcome of this conversation, it is worth reminding that Elon has SEC breathing down his back, as his lawyers prohibited him from making new twitter posts without their approval due to the recent Tesla and SEC scandal.
