Will Voice Replace Twitter?
During the KeyNote, CEO of Block. One Brendan Blumer explained that the social media platform will be built upon the EOS public blockchain in the interest of providing transparency on how it operates and decentralizing how social content is shared and promoted.
He said the platform will not have shady algorithms or content-pushing mechanisms that are hidden from the user, adding:
“The truth is, current social media platforms are designed to use their users. Just look at the business model. Our content. Our data. Our attention. These are all incredibly valuable things. But right now, it’s the platform, not the user, that reaps the reward.”
Voice is poised to revolutionize the social media business model by giving power back to the users with an innovative economic model that uses Voice tokens, the platform’s native cryptocurrency issued on the EOS blockchain.
Upon visiting the platform’s website and reviewing teaser images of Voice, it appears that the social media platform will resemble that of Twitter or Instagram.
Therefore, once Voice officially launches it could potentially lure users away from the traditional Twitter and become the new, less polarized place to share thoughts and ideas.
