EOS (EOS), the fifth largest cryptocurrency by market cap and competitor to Ethereum (ETH), Tron (TRX), and Cardano (ADA) for its smart contracts and dapp development capabilities has been quiet lately, with no major announcements since the launch of EOSIO version 1.6 in January.
However, according to founder Dan Larimer, the cryptocurrency finally has some very big things coming up.
Larimer is a highly respected individual in the cryptocurrency space as he is the software programmer who not only founded EOS but created the cryptocurrency platform BitShares (BTS), co-founded Steem, and is a CTO at Block.one, the company behind EOS.
On March 25, Larimer was interacting with users of the EOS Telegram group when he revealed that EOS will have a big announcement in June.
He said:
June will be biggest news since EOSIO announcement.
After dropping that nugget of information, the Telegram group lit up with questions for Larimer about what it might be. However, he didn’t divulge any details as he doesn’t want to ruin the upcoming announcement in June.
All Larimer said on the topic was that June will impact EOS and that B1 is coming in June.
Nobody knows exactly what the announcement will be, but it’s likely the price of EOS couldl experience a run-up in price leading to the announcement and potential sell-off afterward, leading to a “buy the rumor and sell the news” type of event.
In the same Telegram group on March 25, Larimer took some jabs at both Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) when he responded to a question comparing the number of developers on EOS to Ethereum, where Ethereum is the clear winner.
Larimer said:
Quality over quantity. ETH has many devs because their solutions are overly complicated by poor initial design […] No amount of Devs can fix what is wrong with ETH unless they pitchfork to something like EOSIO.
In addition to what was said above, someone asked Larimer about Cardano (ADA), which led to one EOS enthusiast saying, “Ada has no love here. Please don’t get Dan started on this.” Larimer then replied saying, “a, duh.”
As for his criticisms of Litecoin (LTC), one Telegram group chat participant mentioned something about Litecoin and EOS, and Larimer replied:
The fact that you consider LTC and EOS in the same category shows that you only care about currency use as a token.
Overall, the telegram group chat on March 25 showed that Larimer has strong feelings and is excited about his project EOS while disregarding his competitors as not having much worth.
