EOS proponent and Block. One CTO, Dan Larimer, has tweeted a contrarian opinion about climate change and vaccination, and the cryptocommunity is not too happy about it.
People are happy to question authority unless they happen to agree with the authority. I question everything in pursuit of knowledge. This is why I can see through #blockchain dogma and others cannot. This is why I question climate science and vax dogma. What’s your dogma?

Larimer questions the authorities – and the science – who affirm that climate change is real and who believe vaccination is mandatory, the specifics on Larimer’s beliefs on the two subjects are limited to some Telegram posts, where he discussed the science behind studies as being in need of some improvement. Larimer appears to hold a slightly more nuanced position on climate change vaccination, as some of the posts seem to suggest.
In one of these Telegram posts, Larimer says,
Vaccines may cure 1% of disease but weaken against others. No one compared alternative to wax. It’s the broken window fallacy of medicine… Our focus should be on building natural immune systems that fight known and unknown illness. Not unnatural systems that might be of some benefit for individual illnesses but have unknown consequences.
The full thread of posts, which can be viewed here, seem to suggest that Larimer has a problem with those in the scientific community who he perceives as “arrogant” and cannot conceive of themselves as being wrong or lacking information.
At any rate, the cryptocommunity has been roiled, who have called Larimer out by saying that the science is overwhelmingly in favour of the fact that vaccination helps, and that climate change is undeniably occurring.
