Tapatalk, the leading mobile application for accessing internet forums on mobile devices, has announced that their “Gold Points” reward system will now be powered by EOS blockchain technology.
According to a press release by MarketWatch, Tapatalk’s Gold Point Wallet is being re-built with blockchain technology on the EOS platform.
Tapatalk’s Gold Points were first introduced in 2017, and the program has since been a massive success in the supporting of forum administrators and moderators, growing forum communities, increasing engagement, and improving the quality of content contributions.
Forum administrators can earn Gold Points based on page views, ad impressions, premium subscriptions, and member donations. The system works well and now generates over 80% of Tapatalk forums revenue beyond that which they earn from advertisements.
Since this reward system is such a success in generating significant streams of revenue, Tapatalk wants to diversify revenue pathways for forum owners. They believe the move to blockchain technology will help make transactions more transparent and efficient.

The newly created Gold Point Wallet will utilize EOS blockchain technology to enable users to make fast and inexpensive microtransactions while eliminating transaction fees from third-party payment providers.
According to the press release, Tapatalk’s EOS-powered Gold Points wallet is only the first step in their mission of using blockchain technology to create a more transparent forum ecosystem that fosters growth, high traffic, and robust marketplaces.
Currently, Tapatalk has over 300 million registered users, and hosts over 200 thousand forums in 186 countries. The app completely revolutionized how users connect and engage with their favorite forums, and there are without a doubt more innovations to come.
