New XRP Toolkit to Improve the XRP Ledger

Ripple, the digital payments processing system and company behind XRP, is improving the functions of its XRP Ledger with the release of a new XRP Toolkit. The toolkit is now available in its beta 0.3.0 version, which will improve the accessibility and versatility of the ledger.

The launch of the toolkit was announced on its official Twitter account, in a message with a demonstrative GIF:

How the XRP Toolkit Improves XRP Ledger

The XRP Ledger is the backbone of XRP, Ripple’s decentralized native cryptocurrency. Its purpose is to use a consensus process that allows for the facilitation of payments, remittances, and exchanges.

The XRP Ledger determines which transactions are accepted or rejected based on their legitimacy. However, with the release of the XRP Toolkit, the ledger has the potential to become so much more.

As seen in the GIF in Ripple’s tweet, the toolkit is an interface to the XRP ledger which enables users to seamlessly access data and find the information they need.

Not only does the toolkit improve user experience through its interface, but it also improves XRP transactions by preparing, signing, and submitting transactions. Users will now be able to sign XRP ledger transactions with a hardware wallet and a web browser.

By improving the XRP Ledger, the XRP Toolkit will make XRP more versatile and possibly increase awareness and adoption around the world. It may also encourage experimentation and a deeper understanding of the XRP Ledger.

RareData, a renowned community member who started the toolkit project, recently stated:

The XRP ledger was built for way more than simply sending and receiving XRP, it features things like a decentralized exchange, issued currencies and escrow transactions for good reasons. The XRP Toolkit project was started to… unlock more of the XRP ledger’s full potential.

What’s Next?

While the XRP toolkit project is still in beta release, RareData suggests that the official launch of the project could be as early as the beginning of next year.

RareData also mentioned that the next XRP Toolkit release could include log-in options with seaclot (a QR code reader), submitting signed transactions, and more.
