Bitcoin Cash SV (BSV) has consistently drawn controversy both for its project and for the involvement of Craig Wright. Now reports are emerging that a sudden surge in the BSV token’s price might have been the result of a piece of fake news that has been circulating on Chinese social media.
According to founding partner of Primitive, Dovey Wan, the tweet translates to,
CSW transferred 50k BTC from the biggest BTC wallet to Binance, which confirmed he is the real Satoshi. As such CZ will re-list BSV and make an official apology on Twitter.
Though it’s very hard to make a connection between events and corresponding rises in price, Wan says that the news could take time to be realized as fake,
Wright’s actions have included suing individuals in the crypto space and, perhaps most infamously, claiming that he is Bitcoin (BTC) creator Satoshi Nakamoto. Wright filed a $55 copyright application in which he also made this claim, and the Copyright Office stated that “it does not investigate the truth of any statement made.”
