Block.one recently announced its new social platform, Voice, which is poised to revolutionize the social media scene with an innovative new platform that features a self-sustaining economy powered by the Voice token.
While the platform sounds cool, it’s something nobody really asked for, as the cryptocurrency industry has already developed two other blockchain-based social media platforms, Steemit and Publish0x.
What’s more, Dan Larimer, the Founder of EOS and CTO at Block.one, actually co-founded Steemit in 2016 and later abandoned the project to work on Voice, just as he abandoned BitShares to work on Steemit. All things considered, Larimer doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to seeing a project through to the end.
Publish0x, on the other hand, has no ties to Larimer and stands out from the competition in a big way.
Publish0x, pronounced “Publish” without the “0x,” is a crypto-agnostic publishing platform similar to Medium, only both the author and reader earn from using the platform. Publish0x was launched in October 2018 with no ICO, and has been steadily growing ever since.
The Publish0x platform rewards its users with crypto in 3 different ways:
Users of Publish0x do not need any crypto to get started. They can sign up on the platform, read articles and get rewarded. Publish0x gives its users crypto to tip, and you simply choose how much you would like to allocate to the author and how much to keep for yourself.
At the bottom of every post, user’s will find a sliding tipper:
Any Publish0x user can apply to become an author by filling out an application form. This is to ensure the platform only features quality posts that bring value to their readers.
The final way to earn crypto is by becoming a Publish0x ambassador by sharing great articles. Ambassadors will earn 5% of every tip claimed by the audience you bring in, and can earn even more in leaderboards and competitions with the most active ambassadors.
Ambassadors also have a referral link, so when they share Publish0x articles on other media platforms and new users sign up, they get rewarded.
Unlike Steemit and Block.one’s upcoming Voice, Publish0x is crypto agnostic, meaning the platform isn’t powered by only its token. The platform will be supporting an array of tokens, but currently only supports Bounty0x (BNTY) and more recently MakerDAO’s stablecoin, DAI.
Publish0x plans on adding many more Ethereum-based ERC-20 tokens in the future.
With Block.one’s upcoming release of Voice, it appears that Larimer’s previous platform, Steemit, may soon be forgotten.
But Publish0x is going a different direction than both Steemit and Voice, thanks to its crypto-agnostic platform that rewards both readers and authors, attracting an audience from the entire crypto industry.
