Stratis Kicks Off Q3 With the Release of Identity App for iOS

The Stratis project has announced the release of their Stratis Identity app on the iOS platform, a service built on top of the Stratis chain that allows customers to manage personal and corporate identities.

Digital identities are universally seen as one of blockchain’s key applications, with established tech giants Microsoft putting their weight behind it. The immutability and security of blockchain ledgers has inspired multiple projects to develop a platform where users can authenticate, monitor and share their data without fear of theft or manipulation, a type of incident that has occurred repeatedly over the past few years.

The Stratis Identity app will store a record of a person’s or organization’s identity on the blockchain and will allow social information such as e-mail addresses, job designations and the like to be included, as decided by the owner of the profile.

This information is verified when the user logs into their social media profiles on selected networks such as Microsoft, Google or LinkedIn. Users will also be able to validate other identities through an in-built verification tool.

Stratis CEO Chris Trew believes that simplified interactions with blockchain technology, such as intuitive digital identity applications, will help popularize it, saying:

Mass adoption of blockchain will only come through simplicity, and Stratis Identity offers a streamlined way to verify one’s identity through popular social media accounts, using pre-existing Microsoft, LinkedIn or Google account information. Once one’s true identity is established through our app, a Stratis Identity can be shared securely without ever exposing any specific user’s sensitive personal data.

The Identity app follows the release of the Stratis Sidechain Alpha and Stratis Academy, both of which are major steps forward for the project that is helping businesses integrate blockchain technology into their services.

The Identity app is a welcome feature that joins its list of roadmap achievements for 2018. They have met all the major objectives they have set so far for the first half of the year, and have stated that an updated roadmap for Q3/Q4 2018 will be released in the upcoming weeks.
