Wikileaks: There Is Evidence Craig Wright Engaged In Investment And R&D Tax Rebate Fraud

One of Wikileaks’ early tweets states that there is evidence that Craig Wright allegedly committed investment and R&D tax rebate fraud. In December 2015 the well-known whistleblowing non-profit tweeted that one of his businesses had removed a key document on December 10,

The tweet, which has fresh responses almost 3 and a half years later, comes at a time when Wright has achieved further notoriety for suing Twitter user, Hodlonaut, for defamation, a move that has been roundly criticized by the larger community.

In a more recent tweet, WikiLeaks stated that Wright had edited a few posts from years earlier to make it seem as if he had been working on cryptocurrency back in 2008.

Wright has been critical of WikiLeaks in the past, saying,

I do not like Wikileaks, and I have never been a fan of Assange’s methods. More importantly, I am strongly opposed to criminal markets and bucket shops. Ross Ulbricht and others like him are criminals. They are not freedom fighters, they are not libertarians. They simply are predators, and they are all that Bitcoin was designed to make far more difficult.

Satoshi Didn’t Wish for the WikiLeaks Spotlight

One of the final posts made by Satoshi Nakamoto on the bitcointalk forum referred to WikiLeaks. At the time, WikiLeaks had begun accepting donations in bitcoin, and Satoshi feared that it would “stir the hornet’s nest”, and draw too much attention to bitcoin.

Now, however, the mindset of many established businesses and even governmental organizations has changed, as Bitcoin and Decentralized Ledger Technologies (DLTs), and the possibilities of both are persuading these entities that there is genuine, honest merit to the space.
